Sorry for the delay with today's posting. I was on the road home after a weekend with great friends and lots of awesome music.
The trip reminded me just how important friends and music are to me. The absence of either would leave a terrible void in my life.
At Austin City Limits, I visited the 'Love Hope Strength' tent. LHS is an international, music-centric cancer charity working to build cancer centers in every country in the world. While there, I was reminded by a friend, for whom the subject is very personal, how easy and important it is to register as bone marrow and/or stem cell donor.
He was right. I just did it. And I'd like to ask you to do it, too.
Love Hope Strength is working with DKMS, the largest bone marrow donor center in the world, to save lives by recruiting bone marrow donors for leukemia patients. There are currently thousands of patients who haven't yet found their donor match. DKMS will continue to recruit bone marrow donors until every patient gets a second chance at life.
Please visit the DKMS website below and enter your info. They'll send you a kit. Simply swab the inside of your cheek, send the sample back and you're in the registry. Could it be easier?
When you register, you keep the music playing for yourself and a friend you haven't yet met - but who's life you may very well save.
