Last week I wrote about Love Hope Strength's efforts to raise awareness of the need for cancer treatment throughout the world (see Oct. 11th entry). Well, I got my donor kit in the mail today and it has me thinking more about what we can do to help those who need it.
For some of us, helping can be as simple as a haircut.
The Locks of Love organization provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss resulting from any diagnosis. Using donated hair to create the highest quality hairpieces, they help to restore self-esteem and confidence to kids, enabling them to face the world and their peers without being self-conscious.
Grand Spa in North Dallas is collecting hair (aiming for 500 inches) from October 18-24 to donate to Locks of Love.
Donate 10 inches or more, and you’ll receive: free shampoo and style, free pink nail polish change and free eyebrow shaping. You’ll also be entered to win a basket of Kerastase products valued at $500.
