AIA Dallas Tour of Homes - Nov. 6th & 7th

A few months ago I did a photo shoot in a house that was AMAZING.
From the street, this place had HGTV-level curb appeal. Its perfect lines and perfect lawn - even how the house was situated on the lot - distinguished it from its neighbors without causing it to look out of place. A feat that surely helped keep harmony in the 'hood.
But it didn't stop there.
Inside, every room was equally awesome.  Everything seemed to be the right proportion, the right material bathed in the right light. The house had an open flow where needed and offered private seclusion where required, too.

Once I got passed fantasizing about how my life would be if I lived there, I began to appreciate how special it is when all of the previous descriptors come together. Great design, like great cooking, elevates our senses and leaves us talking about a place for months, maybe years, later.

Homes like this are sprinkled all over Dallas. Maybe there is one on your street.  Maybe it's yours. You can drive aimlessly throughout the Big D and hope to come across one or two.

A more sure bet to see some of the best around (including the one I've been going on about) is to go on the AIA Dallas - Tour of Homes.

This weekend, the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects hosts the 4th annual Tour of Homes. The 8-home tour showcases some of the best in modern residential design. You are ususally rewarded with the very special bonus of seeing some great interior design/decor as well.

Saturday Nov. 6th & Sunday Nov. 7th
10am - 5pm
Tickets available online or at the first house you visit.
$25 for the full tour or $10 per home a la carte style.
